Re-exploring dead ideas
I had an idea that Dairy Queen could reposition its soft serve as vanilla dipping sauce, or some kind of sweet vanilla ranch.
Lesson learned: AI still can’t do custom voiceovers without sounding painfully generic. And it definitely can’t picture chicken getting dipped in ice cream.
Something that worked well was taking screenshots of images from storyboards and asking Perplexity to describe the scene in detail. That helped me inform the prompt to keep it looking as tight as possible. My prompts kept getting longer and longer. Just for fun, here’s a prompt for one scene:
“A classic American diner interior is depicted, featuring bold red and cream vinyl booth seating with black trim. The booths are arranged around white laminate tables with rounded corners and chrome edges, evoking a nostalgic, retro atmosphere. The scene is brightly lit by natural daylight streaming in through large windows, which reveal a blurred view of the outdoors, including a sidewalk, grass, and a street sign. In the foreground, the focus is on an empty booth. On the table sits a red plastic basket lined with white paper, containing a Chicken Strip Basket meal: several golden-brown chicken strips, a portion of crispy French fries, two triangular slices of toasted Texas toast, and a small cup of vanilla soft serve, slightly hidden except for a peak of soft serve. The meal is centered on the table, drawing the viewer's attention. An unseen announcer says "Introducing a new sauce, that's actually been the original for decades." He speaks in an exaggerated, theatrical tone often deep, resonant, and highly expressive, with a flair for suspense and humor.”
Still feels a little stiff to me. I like when AI gets a bit more self-aware. But it's a start.
